What to Pack for Your Hunt
Being well-prepared is key to a successful and enjoyable hunt. Please pack your gear in a soft duffle bag and your hunting backpack, with a maximum weight limit of 45 pounds per hunter. Below is a suggested packing list to help you stay comfortable and ready for the backcountry.
Clothing & Gear
- Layering Essentials: Long underwear, wool socks, moisture-wicking base layers
- Outerwear: Insulated jacket or vest, warm pants, rain gear (pants & coat)
- Head & Hands: Warm stocking cap, gloves (one light pair, one heavy waterproof pair), camo balaclava or face mask
- Footwear: Waterproof, insulated hunting boots with good tread, comfortable slip-on camp shoes, waterproof gaiters
- Extras: Spare clothing, belt, and layers for varying weather conditions
Hunting Equipment
- Sleeping Bag (Down insulation preferred, pack in a waterproof stuff sack)
- Optics: Binoculars (8x or 10x power), rangefinder (required), handheld GPS (optional)
- Calls & Tools: Hunting knife or pocket tool, cow call
- Lighting & Navigation: Headlamp with extra batteries, map of the hunting area (optional)
- Hydration: Water bottle or hydration bladder
Personal Items
- Sunglasses, sunscreen, SPF lip balm
- Unscented baby wipes, washcloth, hand towel
- Moleskin, insect repellent, lighter
- Hand warmers, foot warmers (optional)
For Rifle Hunts
- Hunting license
- Ammunition (1-2 boxes)

For Archery Hunts

- If you’d like to add bear, lion, or wolf tags to your hunt, only an additional harvest fee of $3,000 applies.
